Save the Children Cash Assistance 2024 for New Students
～We provide a portion of the costs associated with new enrollments～
Save the Children would like to express our sincere condolences and sympathy toward the people affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
Save the Children will implement the “Save the Children Cash Assistance 2024 for New Students” so that children entering junior high and high school this spring can enjoy their school life with peace in mind.

For new first-year junior high school students and first-year high school students from families who have specific difficulties in their lives and are in need of financial assistance, we will provide a portion of the costs associated with their enrollment and graduation.
【Overview of Assistance】
■People Eligible for this Assistance
- The child concerned must be scheduled to enter a junior high school or high school, etc., as a first-year student within Japan in April 2024.
- The child concerned must reside in Japan at the time of application and meet all of the following eligibility criteria A through C below set by Save the Children.

【Information on Assistance】
For each eligible child, we will provide a portion of costs associated with graduation and new enrollment.
■New 1st year junior high school student: 30,000 yen (quota: 400 students)
■New 1st year high school student: 50,000 yen (quota: 600 students)
【Application Period】
12:00 on Wednesday, January 10 , 2024 to 23:59 on Friday, January 26, 2024
*Please note that applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted, no matter what the reasons are.
*Application will be accepted through the online form starting on January 10 at noon.
*Applications should be submitted online. Applications will be accepted by mail only under unavoidable circumstances. Applications by mail must arrive no later than Wednesday, January 24 to be considered. Please note that the postmark is not valid.

【The goal of Save the Children Cash Assistance 2024 for New Students】
Every child has the right to choose what they want to learn and do, regardless of their financial situation. However, Save the Children's research and other data show that the burden of household expenses related to school attendance is heavy, especially during the new school year, when the burden is even greater.
Through the Save the Children Cash Assistance 2024 for New Students, we provide a portion of the costs associated with graduation and new enrollment so that children can spend the new school year without financial worries. We will then use what we learn through this assistance as the basis for policy proposals and other activities to improve the environment for children's learning and their lives.

●In order to rigorously screen whether or not the applicant meets the eligibility requirements for this assistance, we ask each applicant to submit documents and information proving that he/she meets the living and income requirements.
●After reviewing the documents and information submitted in the application, we will determine if your application meet the eligibility requirements for assistance.
●If the number of children who meet the eligibility criteria exceeds the maximum number of assistance available, assistance may not be provided even if you meet the eligibility criteria.
